Pausing for Prayer – Take time to reflect on the moment
Making time to visit the gardens and green spaces on your doorstep provides a powerful opportunity for moments of prayer.
Over the last couple of months barren patches of ground lying dormant over winter have burst forth into glorious colours and scents.
Pausing to reflect and bring your prayers to God in these spaces can have a powerful impact on your prayer life. Find a space and make the time to pause and dwell in God’s presence. Take in the fresh air and step away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. For a couple of minutes, pause and gaze upon the beauty of creation – it’s diversity and colour.
As you spend time in this space focus upon the scents and smells around you.
The sound of the bird call and wildlife.
The vivid colours of each petal, flower, bud and shrub.
Consider the following as you dwell in this space:
As your time in this space draws to an end take a moment to simply dwell in the stillness of God’s love.
And may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
